PINK SHIRT DAY is next FRIDAY!

By Kristen Ferguson | Posted: Friday May 10, 2024

Friday 17 May 2024 marks Pink Shirt Day in Aotearoa New Zealand, where the country will turn into a vibrant sea of māwhero/pink.

Together, we unite to promote love (aroha), embrace diversity, and work towards ending bullying!

We'll be holding a school-wide assembly to acknowledge this occasion and reinforce our KAIK value of kindness (ATAWHAI). This will include some skits from the drama club and a song from the choir.

Throughout the day, classrooms will be participating in activities focused on anti-bullying, giving to others and celebrating diversity. It would be fantastic to see the entire school dressed in pink to show support for this day.

If you're interested in purchasing the official Pink Shirt Day t-shirt, they're available at Cotton On stores and online.

For those who wish to contribute to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, you can donate directly through their website. Alternatively, students can bring a gold coin or small donation to school and give it to their classroom teacher. All donations will be forwarded to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

Let's SPEAK UP and STAND TOGETHER to STOP BULLYING on FRIDAY 17 MAY!
