Nau mai haere mai to Ella, Alice, Anushay, Remy, Joshua and Aarav - welcome to Kaikorai Primary School; we are happy you are here. We also welcome Mrs Baker to Rūma waru and Ben to the learning support team.
I hope your children are well-rested and had a happy and healthy holiday break.
Term 2 is an exciting term of learning with a focus on science—Motion, Matter, Energy, and Forces. As always, we love it when our whānau community shares their experiences and expertise with our tamariki. Please feel free to let me or your child's teacher know if you would like to talk to the class about your science experiences. We'd love to hear from you!
We are upgrading our WIFI equipment on Monday. This means that our phone lines will not work, and teachers won't have easy access to SeeSaw or their emails.
If your child is absent on Monday, please email Sharon at [email protected] or [email protected]. We will check our emails from our phones.
Please order by following this link. We have only had 8 orders from our whole school. Please consider sharing with your family members to increase our sales and raise funds for Kaikorai Primary School. Thank you for your support.
This a reminder that school is closed on Friday, 31st May, for a teacher-only day. Kelly Club is open for the day should you need to book your child in.
Please note that Teacher Only Day is the Friday of King's Birthday weekend, and school is also closed on Monday for King's Birthday.
All important dates on our calendar can be found on our website for easy reference. Click here
All unclaimed and unnamed lost property (2 scooters and a wheelie bin of unnamed clothing) will be taken to the charity store next week. If you need a final look-through, please go to the lost property bin in the hall.
It is now a government regulation that children must put away their cell phones for the duration of the school day. If your child brings a cell phone to school, they must hand it to their teacher in the morning to be securely stored for the day. Smartwatches must also be set to 'school mode' and cannot be used for messaging during school hours. As always, if you need to send a message to your child during the day, please get in touch with the school office by phone.
We are looking for new road patrollers to join our parent volunteers at the Wright Street crossing before and after school. If you are able to help, even just once or twice a term, please email our fabulous coordinator, Helen [email protected]
A reminder that the parks on the school side of Wright Street are no parking. These are for a quick pick up/drop off. Cones are placed there from 2:30 pm-3 pm, please do not park there and leave your vehicle or drive between the cones to secure a park.
I look forward to seeing you at the gate on Monday, ready for an exciting term 2.
Ngā manaakitanga
