Hokia ki ō maunga kia purea e ngā hau a Tāwhirimātea.(Return to your mountains to be cleansed by the winds of Tāwhirimātea.)This whakataukī encourages people to return to a place of peace and rejuvenation. It reminds us of the importance of rest and recovery, much like being revitalised by nature's elements. It highlights the need to step away from the busyness of life and reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings.

Project Based Learning
Our Term Three Project-Based Learning has been a huge success! The children worked incredibly hard to design and create top-quality products to sell at the school fair. We're thrilled to share that the Kererū team made a fantastic profit, with many of the items students created completely selling out! Through this project, students have developed a deeper understanding of the design process, how to create products, and the essentials of selling them to make a profit. All funds raised will go towards the new playground, which we are excited to open at the start of Term 4!

Year 6 Balmacewen Intermediate Open Day
Balmacewen Intermediate have invited students, who are enrolled next year, to an Orientation Afternoon on Wednesday 4 th of December. Students will meet in the school hall at 1.30pm. During the afternoon the students will have the opportunity to meet some of the Year 7 teachers, children from other schools and to engage in a few team building games. It is a nice opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the school before starting in 2025.
Year 6 students will walk to and from the orientation day together. You will not need to arrange transport.
Please complete the permission form and return to your class teacher.
Year 6 Photos
We are busy planning the Year 6 Leavers' celebration! Please send Miss Sims a photo of your child at five. It would be great if you had a picture of their first day at school to share. Please send this as soon as possible.
Hot Food
Please remember to send hot food along to school in a thermos. It is difficult for staff to heat food and prepare noodles due to lunchtime responsibilities, including supervision of students in the lunch area. Children cannot use boiling water without adult.
