Preparing for Book Week

Our students have been busy preparing for our upcoming Book Week (Week 8 of this term). They have been researching a variety of topics related to the Arctic, diving deep into some important and interesting facts. Some students have collaborated with their buddies to share their learning, while others have been creating Arctic-inspired artworks. We are excited to showcase all of this during Week 8 as part of our Book Fair display. Parents attending Room 4’s assembly next Friday may get an early sneak peek at some of the wonderful work we’ve been doing.

Trinity College Pantomime

Trinity Catholic College is putting on its annual Pantomime again this year. Tūī Hapori will attend the performance this year. This is scheduled for Wednesday 4 December at 10.00am. The show will be about one hour to one hour 15 minutes long. We will be bussing to and from Trinity Catholic College.

There is no charge for the Pantomime, but there is a request for students to bring non-perishable items for the food bank if possible. We will also need a parent helper for each class.

End of Term

We have been talking about what often happens to us as we head into the end of term. We all get a little bit tired, which causes us to be a little bit grumpy, and a little bit clumsy. Our responses to different things in the classroom and playground can be affected by this. Reminders about trying to show our KAIK values are an important part of this discussion.

Tirohanga Writing:

Here are some thank you messages from our students to all of our helpers. There are also some excerpts from our recounts of Tirohanga.

Thank You!

"Thank you for coming to Tirohanga and helping us with every activity that you could. It was amazing having you there. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to help us at Tirohanga."

"Thank you so much for helping me achieve tasks. You are amazing!"

"Thanks for all your support and kindness."

"Thank you for helping me get across the bouldering wall and confidence course."

Excerpts from our writing:

"I had a great time with my friends and the whole middle syndicate. I think it was one of my favourite days. Although my feed did get sore and tired, I think that was the only bad thing and it wasn't even that bad. Otherwise it was pretty great."

"The last thing we did was go on the bushwalk. I could hear some beautiful sounds that sounded like a Tūī. In the middle we all got two frui bursts."

"I did the confidence course which was very scary and a little bit hard but I think we all did an amazing job."

"At the bush walk we went over an old wooden bridge. Then we went on an uphill track. There were lots of twists, turns, ups, and downs. Eventually we got to the double tree. We went up until we got to the pine needles. We had some fresh fruit (Fruit Bursts). On the way down, there was an amazing view of the surrounding landscape (everything looks amazing from a tall hill)."

"I went to the bouldering wall first. It was tricky but I managed to finish it in the end. After we finished the bouldering wall, we were doing Cornhole."
