Kia ora koutou,
It was wonderful to see our whānau come together during Book Week who joined us to read stories to the children and take part in creative activities. These shared moments are a wonderful reminder of the importance of fostering a love of reading.
Our Arctic displays were proudly showcased as the final product of our PBL journey. These were available for viewing throughout our Book Fair and highlighted the creativity, knowledge, and effort of our students.
Some of our classes had the privilege of visiting Balmacewen Intermediate, where their students performed a Sasa, which is one of Samoa's well-known dances. They also shared the incredible books they had created as part of their PBL journey, showcasing their hard work, creativity, and ability to express themselves through storytelling. This visit inspired our students and showed them what’s possible as they keep learning.
Our Year 5 students hosted an exciting activity hour for our syndicate. They planned and organised a fantastic range of activities, including musical statues, musical chairs, cricket, crafts, and Jump Jam. This event had something for everyone to enjoy, and it was wonderful to see the Year 5 students stepping up to create an inclusive and engaging experience for their peers.
Have an enjoyable festive season. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2025.

On a personal note, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible team of adults and children I have had the privilege of working with. The teachers’ dedication, mahi, and support truly stand out. Kaikorai Primary is fortunate to have such highly experienced and passionate kaiako. To the children, your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to embrace challenges make teaching a joy and a privilege. A big thank you to AK and the children of Rūma Rima for a fabulous year together.
