Me mahi tahi tātou mo te oranga o te katoa - We should work together for the wellbeing of everyone. Nau mai ki te Tūī Hapori - Welcome to the Middle Syndicate!
Welcome to Tūi Hapori
A particularly warm welcome to all our new families at Kaikorai! We've had a fantastic start to the year, settling into our regular learning routines. We're excited to support your children on their learning journey this year. Our classrooms are already looking vibrant with displayed student work. If you missed our Meet the Teacher evening, please feel free to pop in at the beginning or end of the school day to share with your child some of their pieces of work.
Swimming
Our swimming program has kicked off with great enthusiasm, and it’s been wonderful to see the excitement and pride our students display as they master new skills - they're definitely displaying the KAIK values with their mahi. A huge thank you to all our amazing parent helpers – your support is invaluable! We have three more swimming days scheduled for Week 4: Monday 24th, Wednesday 26th, and Thursday 27th.
Project-Based Learning (PBL)
Our PBL for this term will be based on the driving question: How can we design engaging and creative ways to showcase our community, its key places, people, and unique culture?
Our milestones for this term's PBL are:
Learn about Kaikorai’s history, its name and how it all began.
Discover all the amazing places, culture and people that make up Kaikorai’s community.
Visit key places and people in our community.
Present your learning journey that showcases the Kaikorai community.
A big part of our projects is having experts talk to our students in groups, as a class, or as a syndicate. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has a unique skill that they would like to share. If you are interested in sharing any aspect of your culture (language, clothing, food) or expertise with us, please let us know.
Kā mihi nui,
