He waka eke noa- a canoe which we are all in without exception. This whakatauki emphasises the need for collaboration, unity, and shared responsibility to reach our destination successfully.

End of Term News

As the final bell approaches, signaling the end of a busy term, we can all take a breath and look forward to a well-deserved two-week break. This term has been full of opportunities for our students, from connecting with teachers at our meet the teacher evening and parent-teacher interviews to showcasing their talents and teamwork in events like EPro 8, KVC Sports Day and PALS training day. We've also been a part of academic events with the Literacy Quiz and Maths Problem Solving Challenge, fostered community connections through visits to the community garden and the Araiteuru Marae, enjoyed the magic of the opera performance, and some of our athletes competed at the swimming champs. We stayed active during Move it March and participated in daily fitness as a team. As we recharge, we eagerly anticipate another exciting term filled with the School Production PBL, various sports events, Kids Sing, a visit from the Otago Nuggets, Road Patrol Superhero Day, the World Vision Junior Youth Conference, the Girls Tag Tournament and Matariki celebrations.

Our teaching team has been the driving force behind the rich and varied learning experiences our tamariki have enjoyed this term. We were delighted to welcome Matua Kane to our kura. Our teaching team have worked collaboratively to create engaging and meaningful opportunities for all our students. From the exciting events mentioned earlier to the daily classroom interactions, their hard work, passion, and commitment to providing quality educational experiences are appreciated. This collective effort and dedication make Kaikorai Primary a wonderful place to be and learn.

I would also like to thank our parent community, who have supported all these experiences by volunteering time and through your positive interactions and communication.

The Sea Breeze

The cold, gentle breeze

Touches my face with a gentle breeze

The clouds so pink

Breeze glooms around me.

Pink clouds awaken softly.

Magical bright sky.

Water dances away.

Pink fluffy clouds tower over me.

Sandcastles tower strongly.

Mountains loom over me.

Beach day exploring the sea.

The sea calls to me.
