Room 2a has a lot of exciting learning ahead, in what is shaping up as an action-packed third term.

Kia ora room 2a whanau!

We're into the second week of term three already, and there's lots of learning and exciting opportunities for our class ahead.

Firstly, there has already been an intermediate visit for the year sixes, and tomorrow morning (August 2nd) they will be heading off to Balmacewen Intermediate to get a taste of what school life might look like next year.

Another exciting Art Gallery visit for the whole class has been set up for Monday 7th August. This is a great opportunity to work with John Neumegen again, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery's Education Teacher. A huge thank you to those of you who have said you can come along as parent support. I will be in touch this week to finalise this.

Room 2a's assembly will be held on Friday August 11th. This is a chance for our class to show off some of their learning and exercise their presentation skills. You are all warmly invited to attend.

This term we will also be working hard in contributing towards the school film. This will involve studying film-making as a craft, and I will be looking to bring in at least one expert guest speaker to share insights in this learning area. Our class contribution will revolve around our inquiry into street art. We will be looking at filming outside of the school in the coming weeks, perhaps around some of Dunedin's own impressive street art, so stay tuned for more information on this.

Once again, it's looking like a very busy and exciting term filled with terrific opportunities for Room 2a students!
