First game of 2016 complete

A great start to the year

Firstly, well done to everyone making the trip in time for the dreaded 3:30 kick off on a day where the mercury cracked 31 degrees inside the Edgar.

Such a great improvement from the first game last season. Players marking up and getting back on defence superbly.

Charlotte had a fantastic first half in goal, making some brilliant saves and keeping the score nil all, going into the 2nd half.

Mackenzie was bravely battling with boys twice her size and a big shout out to our MVP Sophie, who managed to be at both ends offering some slide tackles and strikes on goal.

Thomas was our goal scorer and once bitten with fist pumping goal glory was hunting hard to get another.

Mason and Manu had many close strikes on goal but just missed whilst our newest play Phoenix tackled hard and had a few strikes of his own.

Really impressed with everyones efforts and I can't wait for next week.

There will be a practice at lunch time so allow for good footwear. Monday at Kaikorai weather permitting.

We will be running over more movement drills and basic skills.

Great work team Cats.

Roar, roar, roar!
