Robocup

Kaikorai students enjoy their first experience of Robocup...

In Term 1 and 2 a group of children did Robocup Junior.  We started by getting into teams and we got a robot at the end of term 1 and started to build and explore . Some of us went to a holiday program and we learnt the basics in programing. After we knew how to do the basics we got into our teams and started brainstorming ideas for the performance.

So once we had our theme we started to program the robot. After we finished programing the robot we came up with props and costumes. The Mario Bros did a mario theme and we made a costume for the robot.

There were 2 events in Robocup that Kaikorai did.  We did the Theater event and the Search And Rescue event. There was a programing challenge and Pippa Trotman won it. She won a Cup, USB cable and a Water Bottle.

Jamie Beaman rates Robocup 10 out of 10. “It was a lot of work” says Room 2a student William Dearden. Three teams competed two for theater and one for search and rescue. The Mario Bros did a marvelous performance and the Lightning Mcqueens and Joe had a great performance as well.  Unfortunately none of the Kaikorai students won their competition.

So overall I believe that everyone who participated in Robocup had a great day.
