The four classes have eight sessions of half an hour each. Each class will walk to the pool (unless really wet) leaving school approx. twenty-five minutes prior to instruction time.

Swimsation will deliver instruction that will incorporate water confidence, technique and stamina. The children will be grouped in ability groups. Children perform best and with greater confidence when wearing goggles and suitable swimwear.

Cost

The cost for ten sessions at Moana Pool, including instruction from Swimsation instructors is $20:00 per pupil.

We are indeed fortunate to have the support of the Skills2Swim programme with a substantial subsidy for this programme. It is important that we appreciate and support this assistance to our PE and Health programme.

(Please note that due to the contract agreement with Swimsation and Moana Pool we are charged for all sessions for each child. Children who forget togs etc. will still be charged.)

The cost will be placed on your account.

On Friday we farewell our 2 student teachers in Rooms 1 and 4; Miss Rosie Hardie and Miss Harriet Donald. They have made strong contributions to the learning programmes in our classrooms throughout the year, and we have appreciated having them as members of our staff. We wish them all the best in their future teaching careers.

Classroom programmes have been emphasising Inquiry learning as filming is getting completed. Here are Jordan and Jacob's thoughts about their filming day:

Room 4 Filming

On Thursday the 7th September, Room 4 went to Moana Pool to film on the hydroslide. We were filming for our part in the school movie. This was meant to be inside the human body. Room 4 loved how they had to go down the hydroslide in our clothes! It was totally crazy! Bella N said “it was really fun holding the Gopro and filming with my Group.” We also had to put a red effect on the Gopro. This was because we used the hydroslide as a vein to slide to a certain part of the body. We were filming in our group and my group slid to the brain.

Our group got to film inside a giant blow up brain. It was really fun using the blow-up brain and being inside it. It was very fun and fantastic using the green screen for other groups because they got to act a lot in front of the green screen.

I can’t wait until I see the whole school movie all together, it will be amazing! The movie will have tension, humour, danger and near death!
