It's been a busy first term, with the first six weeks filled with fun and plenty of learning centred around the environment.
On Thursday 9th March Room 2a were lucky enough to host Ann Dennison, a remarkable woman who has managed to cut down a year's worth of her household landfill waste to fit inside a sandwich bag! Ann gave us a lot to think about on how to reduce our waste in the class and at home. It was a terrific talk, and very relevant considering the inquiry learning we are doing around sustainability, and problems facing the environment.
Further to this learning, we will be taking part in a 'steampunk workshop' on March 29, which focuses on recycling and reusing common waste objects. To help with this, we'd love to gather in your yoghurt pottles, cardboard tubes, drink lids etc. to create some steampunk artefacts.
Next week sees the year sixes head off to camp, while the year fives will take part in some exciting learning activities outside of the classroom.
