Art Gallery Visits

On Monday 7th of August Room 2a walked down to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and met up with John Neumegen, the gallery’s resident art teacher.

He showed us different Japanese prints and Japanese wood cuts. At the start John Neumegen showed us a piece of art that a Korean artist had made. He told us to literally get lost in the installation made up of big yellow inflatable things, which I’m sure everyone enjoyed. After looking at amazing pieces of art we went into John’s impressive workshop where we started to work on Japanese Ukiyo portraits. Everyone did an amazing job. He showed us some Japanese cartoons as well. At the end we thanked John and got on the bus back to school. By Holly Rowcroft.
