Kaikorai School along with Balmacewen Intermediate, Halfway Bush, Maori Hill and Wakari Schools have been successful in our joint application to the Innovation Fund of the Otago Community Trust.
The Otago Community Trust announced this week that the Hills Cluster of schools are the first successful application to their innovation fund. We have been awarded $310,000 over three years to develop our teachers confidence and capability in Project Based Learning and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts.
It will mean that we will be able to expand the work that Pip Dick from Hatch has been doing in our makerspace this year with our Senior and Middle classes, purchase resources to support the programme and release teachers to visit other schools within the cluster.
