Welcome to Room 2. I hope you have all had an enjoyable break and have made the most of the break from school. I am looking forward to working together with you in 2017.
This term our main focus is on Sustainability. We are focusing on several concepts around this topic, and will be looking particularly at the 10 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renew, Refuse, Respect, Responsibility, Rethink, Replant and Restore. In our busy term we will also be focusing on upcoming events such as Waitangi Day, Anzac Day, the Year 6 camp and Year 5 outdoor experiences. Weeks 4 and 5 will also include Futsal coaching sessions.
In Term 1 class routines are being established. Homework books come home on the first day of each week (usually Monday).
Weekly spelling and tables will begin in week 2, with a weekly mini test each Friday morning. Daily reading at home is encouraged, as this will help to build up your child's Literacy skills.
Any passwords for mathletics or subsequent programmes that we use in the classroom will also be put in your child's homework book and on the inside of their desks, so they can engage in activities at school and at home.
If you have any questions or information you need to relay to me, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
