The Cat's 3rd game shows great promise

After just one practice, the Kaikorai Cats halved their Goals against average and kept Grants Braes scoreless in the 2nd half.

Thanks

Once again, well done making it across the bustling hub of Dunedin in time for the 4:00 kickoff. Lucky we don't have one of the dreaded 3:30 kickoff times or live in California and have to negotiate the 405 Freeway, (see picture below).

New confidence

Saw everybody playing strong and making tackles. Running hard to get back on defence and battling to make that scoring break. Despite the loss, the Cats can take pride in knowing their teamwork parallels their improving skills.

Congratulations

Player of the day went to Felix for his efforts on ball chasing.

Merit award went to Mason for his heroic stops in the goal circle and to rush back to Keep the empty goal when he noticed it was unattended.

Some magic breaks from our Cat's dribbling demons, Charlotte, Manu and Thomas, saw a good amount of the game be played in the Grants Braes half and everyone worked hard to keep it there.

Training

I'm aiming for another Friday lunchtime practice, 12:30 at School. It seemed to be a big hit with those who attended - some of who weren't even part of the team but thought it looked like the thing to do on a lazy Friday.

Go Kaik' Cats, ROAR!
