What a busy start we have had to Term 2

By Susan Oldfield | Posted: Tuesday May 23, 2017

We started the term with a focus on Camille Saint Saens music the Carnival of the Animals.

The children in the Junior syndicate became totally involved in the music of the Carnival of the Animals. After listening to different recordings of this music the children were able to identify each animal and the music that represented those animals. We learnt about different instruments of the orchestra and how music can tell a story.

Now we are preparing for Kaikville in week 7 by learning about how people earn money and what jobs our parents do to earn money. Each class will be creating something to sell on Kaikville day.

Make it Mondays have begun and the children are enjoying a variety of activities each Monday afternoon. Parent help is always needed so please come along at 1.30 for the next 4 Mondays and lend a hand.

Swimming went well in the first two weeks of the term 2 and the children made amazing progress. Thank you to the parents who came each day to support the children getting ready to swim and in the changing rooms afterwards. We are booked to swim in mid November again.
