A great day had by all and thanks to the Bendigo Valley Sports & Charity Foundation for supporting our students to attend this event.
On the 29th May, the Whanau group leaders of Kaikorai were all very lucky to experience the NYLD (National Young Leaders Day). NYLD is a day where we sit and listen to motivational speakers, they each had their own interesting story to tell us. One of my favourite speakers was the famous netball player Jodi Brown. Her story was about how she became a famous netball player and played for the Steel and Silver Ferns. My other favourite speakers were Adam Gardner and Duane Major, these two amazing men bought a beach for all of New Zealand using Givealittle, to fundraise. Half way through the day we were all very lucky to play some games - challenges, my favourite challenge was a tennis ball challenge, the hosts would throw the ball to some audience members, who ever caught the ball would would win a prize.
At the end of the day we had some very special guests, those guests were NOMAD the Musicians. NOMAD preformed Oh My My to us. THEY WERE AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Overall I really enjoyed the NYLD, the experience was amazing, it was so much fun.
