I am sure you will agree that we have some very tired children needing a break in the holidays.
They have worked so hard during the term and there are so many coughs
and colds around. Hopefully after the two weeks off we will see healthy and happy
children back in class.
We had a great session of golf for each class last week and I know that the children enjoyed trying a different sport.
Room 7, 10 and 12 celebrated world speak like a pirate day by dressing up and doing lots of fun pirate activities on Tuesday and what fabulous pirates they all made.
What amazing progress the children have made from their pre-test for their basic facts to their post- test. Thank you for supporting your children in this 3 week focus. Please keep up the excellent practise during the rest of the term. Children need to know their basic facts with 3 second recall.
The classes are all off to the Art Gallery over the next 2 weeks. I know that the classes that have been this week really enjoyed making art works and looking at Traditional stories through art.
Next Wednesday afternoon we are off to Wakari School to see their Junior production of Traditional stories. Such a fitting activity for us after our big focus this term.
Every time we leave the school all children need to wear their school t-shirts so that they are visible please put a long sleeved top underneath to keep warm. Art Gallery, Wakari School etc.
As we look forward to Term 4 we are excited to be having a visit in the first week from the SPCA about looking after our pets and staying safe around animals.
After that we have our BIG focus for Term 4 which is Structures.
Each class will be looking at something to do with structures like playgrounds or houses, or bridges. Some classes will be setting structure building challenges over the term. It is going to be hands on and lots of fun learning about how things are built and what makes them stay together. Lots of science and technology coming up.
Have a great holiday break and stay safe. We look forward to seeing smiling healthy and rested children back on the 16th of October.
