Comings and goings in Room 8.

What a busy last few weeks we have had.

You will have noticed that there have been a number of days when I have been out of Room 8. This is due to end of year planning,  senior staff meetings, creating class lists for 2018 and testing. Today I was able to go with my husband for his follow-up at Oncology. Some things you just have to do.

I have been so lucky to have Kristal Barton as my relief teacher that holds the fort together and also Tony Reid every second Wednesday. You can be assured that the children of Room 8 are in very secure hands.

By the middle of the week we should be back into routine with me in the classroom full time.

As the week goes on children will be bringing their artwork home as we strip the classroom ready for the end of the year. Please empty their book bags each night. I notice a lot of parents never seem to look inside book bags and things accumulate in there like pictures and art work. These need to be taken out each night.

There is no more spelling testing this year. Well done to all those who did their spelling night after night it has made such a difference to their writing.

Reading books will not come home after Friday please make sure there are none left at home or in their reading folders. We will be doing lots of fun Christmas poems so please help your child to read these each night from now on.

Pizza lunch notice for the end of the year has been sent out. Please read it and order on line so no one misses out. Sometimes we have some very sad faces as they have missed out on ice blocks and pizza as everyone else eats them.

Is your class trip notice back for our visit to Toitu????

Thank you for being such supportive parents throughout the year. I have loved having your child in my class and watching them grow and learn. What amazing progress they have made in all areas. I hope you enjoy reading their school report next week when it comes home please check reading folders  for it next Monday night.
