Senior News

All senior classes have had a very busy time in the last 2 weeks.

We realised why we have felt so busy lately when we looked back on the calendar for the last 2 weeks. We have been busy either finalising our ideas for our movie scripts through drama, dance, music or visual arts; or we have been out and about filming sections for our movie. All classes have opted for some off-site shooting and we have had successful results. Filming has been a lot of fun, and it is highly rewarding to see the outcomes of our preparations. As we reached Scene 3 Take 9 the children also learnt a lot about patience and perseverance!

Other reasons for having been so busy were the trips away from school: a Planetarium visit, Sommerset Village visits, Art Gallery visits, the Ukulele Jam, and a Drills and Skills event at the Edgar Centre. Classes have also completed their calendar art and seen an excellent performance by the Kahurangi troupe.

It has been busy, and we are pleased with the energy and enthusiasm the children have maintained throughout this time.

Lastly, we have welcomed Miss Rosie Hardie (Room 1) and Miss Harriet Donald (Room 4) to their final posting this year. They have finished their weekly visits and are now teaching for 3 consecutive weeks. After this posting they will finish with a short spell back at the University of Otago Dunedin College of Education, and then they will graduate and be seeking their own teaching positions for 2018.
