A warm welcome back I hope you all had a happy and relaxing break!
When children arrive at school they are encouraged to hang up their own bags, put away their own reading folder, lunch box and drink bottle. (water only please)
News groups - each child is given a day of the week to share their own special news as part of our oral language. Children can bring along something such as a favourite book, photograph, newspaper article etc.
PMP - is on Monday afternoons from 1.30pm-2pm starting later in the term.
Library - Room 12 visits the library each Friday morning for a half hour session. The children are allowed one book to take home for the week.
School hats and t-shirts - school hats are compulsory in Terms one and four and t-shirts are to be worn on all school trips.
Change of clothes/footwear - can be useful in children’s bags in case of any accidents or wet weather. Sensible footwear for P.E is also essential.
Te Reo - each Thursday children take part in a half hour session with our new entrant class Room 8.
Home Learning - children will take home a reading book each night and a poem on Fridays. Word cards and a word wall will go home to learn the first basic sight words. These are coloured in once they can read them. Spelling words will be introduced later in the term. Children will learn 5-10 words each week at home and be tested on a Friday.
Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or come in and see me before or after school. Thanks, Courtney Dunn.
