Every class has had a visit to the Orokonui Ecosanctuary this week and what an amazing experience that has been.
Before we went to Orokonui we had a visit from Tahu and Claire last Thursday who brought the most amazing things for us to touch and feel. They gave us a taste of what was to come when we visited this week. Tahu talked about how they are trying to save birds from all the predators.
The whole school focus is on sustainability and as part of that we are trying really hard to have glad wrap free lunches. Please work with your child to find other ways to wrap food so we don't have so much glad wrap blowing around the playground. Even chip packets and wrappers are a problem. How can we cut down on waste?
Week 9 will be BOOK WEEK and we are planning lots of fun activities across the school to encourage children to read and for parents to read to children. We hope to have a dress up day as our favourite book character. More information to come.
Thank you to all the parent helpers that came to Orokonui and also to our PMP sessions we do appreciate your help. Thank you to all of you who took the time to come to parent interviews it is always such a valuable time to meet with you and chat about your child's learning. If you missed please find a time to meet with your child's teacher in the next week.
