Another successful winter sports season comes to an end for our Kaikorai Children.
It is always great to see so many children loving their sports and building skills and fitness. Sport is an opportunity for children to demonstrate the KAIK values and we see this often. We are proud of the way Kaikorai children perform and behave while representing the school.
Thank you Chris Mein for your expert coaching and management of the Basketball team. The team’s progress during the season was immense.
We encourage senior students to take on coaching and mentoring in sport and Alexander Batchelor was fantastic in this role with the Kaikorai Heat team. Alexander coached the team each week and helped at games when available.
Morgan Boyd has been the coach of the Blue hockey team. Thank you Morgan for your commitment and encouraging words to our hockey players.
Netball has been well supported by Grace
Southby (an ex pupil, who umpired games skillfully), Tiff Rowcroft, Janine Southby, Vicki Mitchell and a number of
parents who subbed and scored players. The Kaikorai Steel were placed third in
the competition.
Teams also took part in netball and basketball tournaments last week.
