Kaikville, Kaikville, Kaikville, and a few other things too!
All the classes have been learning about persuasive writing and the skills need to persuade someone. Imagine the children’s surprise when Mr Reid brought in some delicious bugs to crunch for his brunch in Room 3! The children were mesmerised or horrified, either way they decided to persuade others to eat bugs too. Their adverts can be found on the wall in Room 3.
The children in Room 3 are really quite persuasive, they all wrote letters to Miss Gilbert and successfully convinced her to bring Baz (the puppy) in for a visit. Fortunately he did not find any bugs to munch.
Room 6 have been reading some stories about monsters, and are now busy creating their own monsters. Some children have created imaginative monster drawings, some have made large colourful monsters, and many have had a go at sewing their own monster toys.
Room 5 have been showing the KAIK value of kindness and have spent some time with our buddy class, Room 7 creating some beautiful winter artwork alongside a senses poem that describes winter.
Our Inquiry is in full swing with all of the classes looking at the security features of money and designing their own currencies, but this week has been all about Kaikville.
Kaikville has been a lot of fun and the children have taken their roles very seriously. The middles have been especially enjoyed the challenge of Kaikville at the next level.
