‘Shingly Creek Trail Run and Scavenger Hunt’

The Home and School is a non-profit organisation that raises funds for the benefit of the children at Palmerston Primary School.

Next year, on the 18th February 2018, we are running a 10km Trail Run and 3km or 6 km kids ‘scavenger hunt’ as part of this fundraising effort.

This exciting event is being held at Shingly Creek Station.

Shingly Creek is a 2000ha sheep and beef farm located 38km from both Palmerston and Ranfurly in the picturesque Pig Route which boarders Central and East Otago.

The 10km Trail run will take you through creek beds, farm paddocks up hills and over and tussock country with amazing views of the surrounding areas including Mt Obi and the Kakanui Ranges.

The Trail run/walk is open for all ages 12 years and over (unless accompanied by an adult) and cost is $20pp.

This would be a fantastic event to slot in to pre-season training, or to mix up a usual training regime, while experiencing the rare oppourtunity to explore over an iconic private Farming operation in Otago.

The scavenger hunt is a non -competitive event, aimed at younger children and families (not suitable for a buggy but fine for a back pack!), children under 8years need to bv accompanied by an adult.

The cost for this is $5 pp.

This event is essentially a 3km or 6km treasure hunt with lots of activity/rest stations and surprises along the way!
