Masterplanning
Maguire and Harford Architects (http://maguireandharford.co.nz/) have been selected and will work in partnership with BECA from Dunedin .
They have been working with students and staff to develop ideas and plans for the types of buildings we need in the last week and it was fantastic that from the students to the staff to the architects that we are largely on the same page.
We all identified the importance of relationships between teachers and students is the single most important thing in learning. Which reaffirmed our belief still of having students who know who their teacher is and a classroom based system. We also identified the importance of collaboration and the benefits of having two teachers available to students when and where it makes sense to.
We look forward to coming back to you in the near future on how these beliefs will relate to the design of the buildings.
