One week to go until our Book Week begins!
Kaikorai Primary School will be having a Book Week from the 21st - 25th May.
During this week, there will also be a Scholastic Book Fair, in which families can come along and purchase books at very reasonable prices. The Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the kitchen area opposite the library. It will be open each day that week, at the times mentioned below:
Before school - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 9.00am
After school - Monday to Friday 3.00pm - 3.30pm
As well as guest authors and illustrators visiting our school, our children will be participating in a range of fun activities that promote reading. Each syndicate will have a particular reading focus for the week.
There will also be many opportunities for buddy class reading, as well as class teachers reading to other students from different syndicates.
As part of our Book Week, children are encouraged to bring along a certain type of book on a particular day, to share with their class, as listed below:
Monday 21st May - Bring along your favourite book from home.
Tuesday 22nd May - Bring along the smallest book that you have.
Wednesday 23rd May - Bring along the largest book that you have.
Thursday 24th May - Bring along the oldest book that you own.
Our Book Week will culminate in a special assembly for the whole school on Friday 25th May, in which each class will share their work, centred on their particular reading focus.
