PAL report on Winter Sports Coaching

By Simon Clarke | Posted: Thursday June 14, 2018

On the 25th of May we had a Winter Coaching Session at Edgar Stadium. We did a variety of sports such as rugby, football, netball, basketball and hockey.

We (Physical Activity Leaders) got to spend time with groups of children from schools all over Otago. Specialists from five different Sporting Codes were involved in teaching us how to be better leaders and help others with their Physical skills. We got tips and advice on coaching, as well as special emphasis on how to include others who might have different needs and skills.

In the Netball session we did warm-ups most of the time. Gwen( the ladies name) got us to do so much without touching the ball. We only touched the ball when we learnt passing.

Another Sport we did was Basketball. We played Golden Child and a game of Basketball. My team won one round of Golden Child and lost a round.
