A significant term has been had by all!
Groups of seniors are running around the school trying to make a significant difference in our school or community. We have groups running a sport session for a local preschool, proposing ways to make the school look more attractive for children, visiting a local residents home for the elderly , designing computer games to learn about the long history of our school, working to make the school more sustainable and environmentally sound, designing and improving our facilities such as the sports shed, creating a youtube learning channel for our school, finding ways to reduce loneliness and help people find friends and attracting native birds onto the school grounds.
This has been very exciting and we are very much looking forward to seeing the results of the students' actions. Please keep an eye out for change and note that your children did this!
The children were delighted to get to see an amazing show about how to make sound effects. There was laughter, tears and some excellent audience participation. Please take the time to ask your children about the show!

Children in the middle syndicate have been thinking of questions they could ask people who have had a significant effect on others. Some children have focused on people in our community, while others have researched people from the past that they would have loved the chance to have interviewed.
We have talked about the types of questions that will give the interviewee the opportunity to give a more detailed answer rather than short one word answers. Some children have also been thinking about how to lead into a question with knowledge that they have about the topic.
Tirohanga camp is not far away now and we would like to thank those who have already filled out the health and medical forms. If you have not received the e-mail for this, please check to make sure that it has not gone to your junk mail or spam folder, or contact [email protected] to be sent the links.
Parents who have filled out the parent helper and police check forms also need to fill out the parent helper information online form. Next week you can expect to receive an e-mail with the gear list for camp.
