Well it's hard to believe that Term 4 is upon us already! I hope that you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and managed some quality time with family and friends.
Important Dates for Room 10:
1 November School Athletics Day
3 November School Fair
9 November Room 10 and 6 Assembly
6 December Junior Concert
11 December Junior Trip
Room 10 Assembly and Buddy Class
This year Room 10 has had a wonderful buddy class - Room 6, which is taught by Mrs McBeath. This is a Year 3/4 class. As buddy classes, we have come together most weeks to work on art, construction, technology or project based learning activities. It has been a valuable experience for all Room 10 children. So this year we have decided to combine our classes for hosting assembly. We will host assembly together on Friday 9th November at 10.50am (straight after morning tea break has finished). We hope to see you all there!
Library
Our library time continues to be on a Friday at 9.00-9.30am. Please ensure that your child puts their library books back in the class box by Friday 9.00am. The children love to get new books out of the library each week!
Spelling
As per the last three terms, spelling words go home on a Monday and are tested in class on a Friday morning. Thank you for supporting your child in the regular learning of their words. It does make a difference. Just a friendly reminder - please do not write in the spelling notebook.
Mathletics
Well done to the many Room 10 children who are receiving a Mathletics certificate each week, through their regular use of Mathletics. Just a few minutes of Mathletics on a regular basis, helps children maintain and develop their mathematical knowledge and understanding. It also reinforces the concepts taught at school.
School Value
Our whole school value this term is 'keen.'
Kaikorai Kids need to be keen to be confident.
Kaikorai Kids need to be keen to try new activities.
Kaikorai Kids need to be keen to make new friends.
School Inquiry
Our whole school inquiry for Term 4 is based around the context of 'Influence.'
In the Junior Syndicate, we will be looking at the big questions:
How have musicians and artists influenced generations and cultures ?
How does an artist/musician come up with their ideas?
This should be a very practical inquiry, creating artworks, dances and music, while we also learn about a number of famous artists and musicians that have influenced the world.
Finally, remember that you are most welcome to pop into Room 10 at any time to view your child's work and to have a chat about their learning.
Once again, thank you for your valued support and I wish you all a great term.
