Our drumming team, O-Taiko, will be starting up children's Japanese drumming classes (for 6 to 12 year olds) over Terms 2 and 3 this year. The classes will be taught by senior members of O-Taiko, a Japanese inspired drumming ensemble supported by the School of Performing Arts at the University of Otago. Attached is a flyer, for your information. We would really appreciate if you could share this with your students, if you see fit.
To encourage students to try taiko (Japanese drumming) before signing up to the 20 week course, O-Taiko will be running three free children's drumming workshops on the following dates: 14th April, 19th May, and 16th June. These workshops will run from 11:30am for an hour at the Taiko Room, University of Otago (96 Anzac Avenue, 9016 Dunedin).
Details for the 20 week course for 2019 are as follows:
Start date: 28th July 2019 (on Sundays during Terms 2 and 3)
Time: 11:30am-12:30pm
Location: Taiko Room, University of Otago, 96 Anzac Avenue, 9016 Dunedin
Age range: 6 to 12 years
Cost: $120 per student
