The term has been off to a flying start as we prepare for our Kaikville Market Day on Friday 7 June.

So far we have been learning about different jobs in our community. We have been lucky enough to have visits from fire fighters, authors, illustrators and our wonderful parents. Some classes have also been utilising Skype to interview farmers and chefs. The children formed their own questions and loved getting their answers from an ‘expert’. The children were particularly interested in finding out about what the different people do each day, what things they need and the best and worst parts of their jobs.

Our focus now shifts to creating our own Kaikville business where children will need to make and market their product or service. We cannot wait to see our final product and share all our hard work with you all on our market day.

After Kaikville we are straight into Book Week. Classes will spend the week looking at different authors and illustrators.

Next week Room 7 & 9 welcome back their fantastic student teachers, Miss Bolger and Miss Bartlett. They will have a three week placement, with two weeks of full control. The children in Room 7 & 9 are very excited!
