Book Week

Kaikorai Primary School's Book Week begins tomorrow -Monday 10th June.

As part of our Book Week celebrations, we will be having a Book Fair, a Family and Friends Reading Afternoon, and a Dress-Up Day.

Book Fair

A  Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the kitchen area, which is located next to the library. Families are encouraged to come along to our Book Fair and view the wonderful selection of books on sale, at very reasonable prices. We receive 20-30% of the sales to purchase books for our own school library.

The Book Fair will be open at these times:

Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 9.00am

Monday to Thursday: 3.00pm to 3.30pm

Family and Friends Reading Afternoon

As part of our Book Week events, we invite family and friends to come along to school on Wednesday 12th June, at 2.30-3.00pm to read to a small group of children, in the classroom. Perhaps you have a favourite picture book or chapter book from your childhood that you could share? This is a lovely way to encourage and develop a passion for reading in the younger generation. So we would love to see you there!

Dress Up Day

The theme for this year's Book Week is the 'Enchanted Forest.'

To conclude our Book Week, we encourage all children to have fun dressing up as their favourite enchanted forest character on Friday 14th June.

Suggestions for costumes:

Owls

Unicorns

Toadstools

Fairies

Frogs

Dragons

Rabbits

Gnomes

Pixies

Trees

We hope to see you at the Book Fair and at our Family and Friends Reading Afternoon.
