We have been offered the opportunity to have our Year 5 and 6 children participate in the ICAS tests. ICAS is an international competition that tests children’s skills and understandings over a range of curriculum areas. This year we are offering Mathematics, English and Science tests. ICAS Assessments are now online, a move that reflects a sector-wide transition to computer-based assessment. This allows greater accessibility for students and faster delivery of results.

Learn more about ICAS here: https://www.unswglobal.unsw.edu.au/educational-assessments/ UNSW Global states the benefits as being:

Independent assessment of student strengths and weaknesses.

High-quality assessment.

An independent source of recognition of your child’s talents and achievements.

Results are delivered to you in comprehensive school and student reports, with detailed analysis.

Every student receives a certificate acknowledging participation, and awards include High Distinction, Distinction and Credit certificates.

The dates and costs for the tests are:

Science Thursday 5th September $15

English Tuesday 17th September $15

Maths Thursday 19th September $15

If you would like your child to take part in any, or all of these tests, please download and complete the form below and return it with payment to the office by Friday 2nd August. Cheques may be made out to Kaikorai Primary School, or payment may be added to your account.

If you have any queries or require a paper copy of the form, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
