Term Two has flown by with Kaikville, Market Day and Book Week. The children have been engaged in their learning and have gained lifelong skills. Next Term will see a big change in direction as we begin our learning around the 150th-anniversary celebrations.

If you have ever asked a child to guess how old you are, you will know that the concept of time can be a tricky one for children to understand. Conversations with parents and grandparents about what life was like when they were young can be interesting eye-openers for children. These at home conversations help develop childrens' prior knowledge and make our class discussions around this topic much more engaging.

Our dance production will be held in Week 9 of next term, so we will be spending the next couple of months, planning, preparing and practising our dance that celebrates the 150th anniversary. The middle syndicate dances will feature the middle 50 years from 1920 to 1970. 

The dates for our overnight trip to Tirohanga have been set. This will be held in the second week of the fourth term, this is the week before Labour weekend.  We are very excited that Room 4 will also be coming with us this year.

We would like to thank parents for taking time to meet with us this week and parent interviews and we would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday. Enjoy the extra time with your children to play relax and most of all have fun. We look forward to seeing you all after a well-deserved rest!
