Welcome back to Term 3. It has been great to see children back feeling revitalised and excited for all of the interesting happenings planned for this term.

Looking after our mental and physical health is very important and good habits start in childhood. Our children are very good at looking after their physical health with their involvement in sport, clubs outside of school and through play. We are very lucky to have Jessica from Leith Occupational Therapists come in and lead Relax Kids with the children in Rooms 3 and 5. Children have learned about how to change your breathing to feel more relaxed and calm. Some children have been practising these techniques at home which can be very helpful to improve sleep.

As a part of our reading programme children have been learning to identify the main idea of a paragraph or text. This is much easier when working with non-fiction texts than fiction texts. Children have been practising these skills through activities completed independently, in their reading groups and as a class. We will be continuing this focus for one more week. Once we have completed this you can expect to see an update on Seesaw with an example of your child doing this. Don't forget to have another look at the bookmark that was sent home at the start of the term for ideas on how you can help with this at home.
