Over the last few weeks the Junior Syndicate have been busy learning all about what life and school was like 150 years ago.
Toitū Visits
Room 7, 9 and 10 have each spent a day with Sara at the Toitū Museum. Sara showed us all around the Museum and pointed out ways people went to school, what sorts of things they wore and what houses were like 150 years ago.
Some highlights were dressing up in old fashioned clothes and spending time in an old classroom. We now feel really lucky that our classrooms are so colourful, that we do lots of fun things and that our teachers aren’t as strict.
We know Room 8, 11 and 12 will have just as much fun when they go to Toitū next week.
Production
Excitement is building with our upcoming dance production now only a few weeks away. Children have been busy learning their routines and enjoyed working with our dance expert, Miss Hardie, last week. No doubt you will continue to see snippets at home.
Reminders:
Change of clothes: As the cold weather sets in we ask that you send children with appropriate gear for the cold and wet such as a rain jacket and gumboots. We also strongly suggest that a spare change of clothes is kept in your child’s bag.
8.30am Bell: Please ensure your child is waiting until the 8.30am bell before they enter the classroom as this is important teacher preparation time.
