Winter sport has wrapped up for another year and what a great season it was.
It has been fantastic to see the children playing with such excitement, confidence and most importantly having fun. It is clear that the children have learnt many new skills and strategies and it has been fantastic to see these put into practice. A big thank you to our wonderful coaches. The improvements we have seen and the children’s love of the games comes down to the time and effort you have put into our teams. We are extremely grateful.
Last Wednesday the Year 5 & 6 netball team concluded their season with a tournament at the Edgar Centre. Schools from around Otago competed in what was a big but fun day out. While we were challenged with some hard games we were impressed with the positive and 'never give up' attitude the girls showed. Well done girls. You represented our school with pride.
On Friday the Otago Cross Country Championships were held. To qualify for this event children had to be placed within the top 10 at the Hills Cross Country. This is a massive achievement and requires lots of hard work and training. We were lucky to have Jen Hodgson share her knowledge and help train our runners. A big thank you to you Jen. I know the children have really benefited from your help. As always we were really impressed with the huge effort our competitors put in, in what was a challenging race against the best from all over Otago. The dedication, determination and sportsmanship was beyond impressive.
