Reminder: for a music demonstration and orchestra concert.

If you are interested in your child learning to play the violin or cello, then remember to come along to school on Wednesday 25th September(last week of the school term), at 3.20 pm to our Kaikorai Primary School hall for a demonstration by some of Ella's current students (and a chance to meet and talk to Ella). Also our school orchestra and the Balmacewen orchestra have a concert this Thursday at Balmacewen Intermediate in their Performing Arts Centre at 2pm.

Hi parents. My name is Ella George and I am a registered Suzuki Violin Teacher.

I am excited to be able to offer Suzuki music education to the families of Kaikorai Primary School. Students who choose to learn violin from me at school will have a lesson from me once a week during school hours.

The Suzuki method is an aural method of learning music that is designed to be a natural way for children to learn an instrument. Suzuki students also get together in the holidays for music workshops and camps around the country. A workshop is planned to take place in Dunedin in April 2020.

  • [On a personal note, my own children all started learning music with this method, which led to life-long friendships, well developed music skills, and all my children playing in regional and New Zealand representative  groups.  I fully endorse this method and teacher - Jill Kumar].
