Wow, what a term! The production was fantastic.
The children have done such a wonderful job of choreographing their class dances to tell the history of our community, city and country. The children were full of nerves and excitement into the lead up of this performance and can be very proud of what they achieved. We're sure you loved watching it as much as we loved practicing and performing.
Toitu
Over the last couple of weeks, Room 3 and Room 5 were the last classes to visit Toitu. The was a lot of valuable learning occurring as the exhibits, artifacts and the drama at the end of the day gave children a real understanding of what life was like 150 years ago. It was lovely to see genuine excitement and curiosity and children acting out day to day life in the cottage, on the ship and in other exhibits.
Tirohanga
Please remember to check your emails for updates about Tirohanga. An 'Essential gear and equipment list' went out last week both online and in a paper version. If you have trouble locating anything you need, check in with your child's teacher as we may be able to help. If you have not yet completed the 'Medical and Emergency' form, please complete this at your earliest convenience.
Swimming
We will be swimming in Weeks 3 and 4 of next term. Parents are welcome to come and watch quietly. Children ought to be able to dress themselves by this age – it fits with our goal of being independent. Please consider clothes that are easy for children to put on and off, e.g. no tights.
A notice for this went out online if you have not yet filled out the online form please choose the appropriate link below.
