A group from the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra came to our school to perform, and we were treated to some very good playing from some of Dunedin's best musicians.
Lydia (French Horn), Francis (violin and viola), Lorna (violin, clarinet and trombone), Jonty (oboe), Feby (flute and piccolo) and Robbie (percussion), played us some pieces from long ago right up to present day movie numbers. Music from Star Wars and Aladdin were our crowd favourites. We even got to listen to some music from 400 years ago! One of our own (Mason), even got to play along with this group on the quiro. We got to ask them questions about what they like playing, when they started and even how old they were! Some of us also stayed behind to talk to the musicians.
Rob Duffy shared how we could learn an instrument. If you are interested, please see the attached form.
