We hope you are all keeping well, getting some fresh air and enjoying some bonus time with your family!
The message below was also sent out to you on Seesaw. Seesaw is easy for us to use as you will get notifications from the app and many of our Year 3 students' families have already been using it regularly. Some of you were not linked to your child's account so if you check your emails you will find you have an invite to this.
We have also sent you an email with a link to your child's user name and password list. You will have also received an email from 'Get Epic' which will give you free remote access to this site. These have been sent to the first email address listed on our student management system. If you did not receive these please let us know.
Kia ora Room 3 Whānau, I hope you all are enjoying some bonus time with your families. I can tell you keeping a toddler occupied without leaving the house can be hard work and many of you will be homeschooling, working from home or will have family members who are essential so we hope you are all keeping well! This is a very unfortunate ending to the term as I will be having a baby in around a month's time so I'm very disappointed to not be able to say a proper "see you soon" before I take leave. Rest assured that once the dust settles and you're all back at school and we are all settled in at home we will come in to visit you back at school. Mr Bish and I are busy organising your usernames and passwords and also our assembly item. As you will be aware the holidays have been brought forward to begin on Monday there is absolutely no expectation that you complete set tasks or complete online work. Term 2 officially starts on Wednesday the 15th of April. The user names and passwords we send out are aligned to the sites we use most in class. In our Room 3 Google classroom, there is a page called room 3 links. This is the easiest way to access our favourite sites. To access Google classroom the children will need to log into google. Their user names are their first initial and surname followed by @kaikorai.school.nz. The Year 3 password is kaik2020. Year 4s have their own passwords and should know them already. Most children know how to log in independently but some will need help especially if they are using a device different from a chrome book. When they have logged into google there is what we call the square of squares is 9 dots on the top right of the page. If you click this you can find google classroom/ drive and google docs etc. They can easily log in straight away with google. I encourage you to sign up to https://www.hatchpbl.com/pages/daily-challenges and engage with these activities. I would love to see any of the creations. As always, John and I are available to you or your children via email or seesaw and I would welcome the children to email me photos of the activities they are doing at home, post to their seesaw page, share stories on google docs or slides or send videos they have made. Please make sure you send anything to both emails: [email protected] and [email protected]. Today we held an online staff meeting on Friday to develop our interactive learning environment - this will be ready for 'Term 2' 15th April onwards. Take care, play games, and enjoy. We are both looking forward to hearing all about what you got up to at home. From Miss Gilbert and Mr Bish
