Info for the Google Classroom and Google Meet

The following is a repeat of the Seesaw message that was sent out earlier today.

Dear Parents,

If you have been having a look through our Google Classroom with your child, you may have noticed there are now more activities available for them to be working on.

The ‘Stream’ which is the first area you see when you enter the class will be used for discussions and messages. Your child may like to respond to the messages there themselves, or you might like to help them. Please remind them to be kind and respectful when writing or replying to messages.

Each Monday in the ‘Classwork’ area, you will find a list of tasks that your child can work on. If you open up the Term 2 - Week 1 Google Slide you will find some general reading, writing, maths, and inquiry tasks. At the end of the slide, you’ll find some Extra for Experts activities that you can also pick and choose from.

You may also notice in the ‘Classwork’ area that there are topic ‘Extras’. Some of the activities in these sections are worksheets that can be printed out (if you have a printer at home), or completed on Seesaw (these can be found in the ‘Activities’ tab of Seesaw). These worksheets will be mainly revision activities that children can try to work on independently.

Tomorrow at 11:00am, we will have our first Google Meet. The link for this will be posted in the Stream of our Google Classroom at about 10:55am). For our first session, we will meet for about 20 minutes.

I have also attached a couple of documents to help further explain how to log in to a Google Classroom, and where to find things within it. Please let me know if you have any further questions, or if you still need passwords for our learning websites.

 Kind regards,

Amy McBeath
