Term 2 Wrap Up
At the start of the year I don’t think any of us would have imagined that we would be coming to the end of a 12 week term, with half our time spent learning from home and the other half back at school. As teachers we have been impressed with the resilience that our children have shown and the way that they have adjusted to their new learning environments with such ease and enthusiasm.
Our seven weeks back at school have flown by with lots of creating, making and problem solving. A highlight for the children has been learning about sustainability, particularly learning about the native birds in our environment and the rainforest. The last few weeks have been spent creating resources that showcase the sustainable practices we have learnt. We look forward to sharing the completed products with you all.
A big thank you for taking the time to attend parent interviews this week. It is great to be able to share and celebrate your child’s hard work and successes. We hope you found these informative and that you now have a good understanding of your child’s learning and have taken away some ideas of things you can do at home to help.
Lastly, we farewell and wish Maggie Adlam all the best as she and Glen prepare for the arrival of their first child. We cannot thank Maggie enough for the huge time and effort she has put into the juniors and I know that the Room 8 children and teachers will really miss having her around. Luckily the Room 8 children will be left in great hands as we welcome back Emma Riley from maternity leave.
We wish you all a fun and relaxing holiday, it truely is well deserved!
Many thanks
Junior Teachers
