SCHOOL STREET PARTY

By Simon Clarke | Posted: Monday August 3, 2020

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER 11.00am to 2.00pm

Just under 3 months to go! We’ve had some questions about the street party and how is it different to the fairs we have held previously. The reason for holding a street party instead of a fair this year, was to have a focus on celebration after the year we’ve been having. The Council have agreed to us closing the road and the Church have kindly offered their hall for us to use. The intention is to have entertainment and food stalls on the street, various activities including a bouncy castle on the front lawn, and most of our usual “fair” stalls in the middles and seniors block and the Church hall. We are still finalising some of the them but we will have baking, books, chocolate wheel, clothing, handmade items, kids’ crafts, plants, sausage sizzle, silent auction, tombola, toys and white elephant.

Thanks for all of your donations so far. If you have anything to donate e.g. books, clothing, toys, white elephant items etc the donation bins are outside room 8 in juniors, opposite the door out to the courts in middles and opposite room 1A in seniors.

Volunteers

We still need a number of volunteers so we don’t need to remove any stalls. If you, anyone in your extended family or an older sibling are free on the day we’d love to hear from you [email protected] In particular we are looking for helpers on the following stalls: books, bouncy castle, candyfloss, chocolate wheel, clothing, face painting, gumboot throwing, hot dogs and chips, hot ham buns, magic hair and nails, sausage sizzle, tombola, toys and white elephant. Please let us know if you have a preference.

Entertainment

We are looking for more entertainment options. There will be a designated area for this by the food stalls. Do you, your child/ren or extended family do anything that could be showcased on the day? If so, please get in touch with Kelly.

Community Stalls

We have been very lucky in previous years to have had so much support from our School families and their businesses. Given recent events, we would like to provide an opportunity for you and your business to either set up a stall to promote/sell your products, or to advertise in future newsletters going out. We are not requesting any payment or money from your sales. This is purely to say thank you. If you are interested please contact Kelly on [email protected]

Donations

If you are in a position to donate any items for our raffle or silent auction we would be very grateful. Please contact Kelly with anything you may have, or if you want to discuss what sorts of things would be useful.
