SCHOOL STREET PARTY

By Simon Clarke | Posted: Tuesday September 22, 2020

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER 11.00am to 2.00pm

The Street Party is going ahead! The Parent Group met last night and with the shift to Level 1 decided to proceed. It has however left us with less time than usual, hence the lengthy newsletter. We rely on the School community to help us make this a successful event, so could you please read through and see if there is anything you may be able to help with.

Baking

The baking stall is always very popular, but we do rely on parents/extended family donating homemade goods. If you are able to help with baking some goodies could you please complete the attached form and return it to school by Tuesday 13 October.

Chocolate

We are collecting chocolate this week. If you are able to donate any could you please drop it into the school office. Please do not leave chocolate in the collecting bins.

Donations

Thank you for all your donations so far! As well as any general donations you may have, we are also taking donations now for books, tombola and small items for the white elephant stall.

The School hall will be open from 11am to 3pm on Sunday 11 October if you would like to drop off any items. Items can also be dropped off to the School hall from Monday 12 October until Wednesday 14 October - 8:00-9:00 and 3:00-5:30pm. Please do not drop off any items after Wednesday as we won’t have time to sort them.

Plants

Do you have any plants you would like to donate to the Street Party? We’re looking for all types of plants – vegetables, bedding, seedlings, shrubs, trees. We can collect plants if this is more convenient or they can be left in the School hall from Sunday 11 October. Please contact Charlotte on 021 045 4480 if you have any questions.

Raffle

Could you please make sure your raffle card is returned to the office by Friday. It is not compulsory to purchase all or any tickets from your card, but you must return the card to school whether completed or not please. If you have sold all your tickets and want another card you can get more from the school office.

Signs

We will be putting street party signs up soon and need places to put them. If you would be happy to have a sign at your property please contact Kelly.

Silent Auction

We will be running the silent auction online this year. Look out for details on how to sign up later in the week.

If you are in a position to donate any items for our silent auction we would be very grateful. Please contact Kelly with anything you may have, or if you want to discuss what sorts of things would be useful.

Volunteers

We still need a few volunteers for clothing, face painting, Flick the fire engine, hot dogs and chips, toys and white elephant. If you are able to help on the day could you please sign up at volunteersignup.org/3XHMK.

We also need some people who can help on the day with set up. This will involve some heavy lifting. We need all vehicles off site by 10am, so we are looking for volunteers who can start from 8am. If you are able to help please email Kelly, [email protected].

Thank you!

The Baking Stall is always one of the most popular stalls at a fair, but it relies on parents donating a variety of homemade baked goods to sell.

We require an indication of what people will be contributing to the Baking Stall at the Fair to help us with our planning.

Please indicate which of the following you are able to provide:

□ Biscuits □ Slice

□ Loaf □ Truffles

□ Toffee Apples □ Cake

□ Sweets/Confectionery □ Cupcakes/Muffins

□ Other ______________________________________________

□ Bag of commercial lollies to be used to make up "lolly mixtures"

Due to DCC regulations, we are not able to sell products with fresh/whipped cream.

There is no need for you to package your baking as we will do this for you.

Please attach an ingredient list with your baking including if it is Gluten free/dairy free/nut free.

Baking can be dropped off in Room 2A on Friday 16th October between 3pm and 6pm. Please do not bring baking on Saturday morning.

Bags of lollies for the lolly mixtures can be left at the School Office at any time.

If you have any questions, please phone Ros on 027-2424-894.

Please return this form to the School Office by Tuesday 13th October.
