A huge thank you!

What a wonderful day our Street Party was...

The rain held off and a good time was had by all at the Kaikorai School inaugural "Street Party."

2020 has been a tough year for everyone and planning events like this are made even harder as we move in and out of the Covid Levels.  Because of this, the Parents Group goal was to create an enjoyable community event and we believe we achieved this goal and more.

Events like this just don't happen without everyone working together and giving up their time, and I would like to publically thank the following people.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Street Party.  Without you, we would have nothing to celebrate and we wouldn't have raised a significant amount of money to spend on the students.

Thank you to Hjarne Poulson and his team at the DCC for making it so easy to close the street for the day.  This includes our neighbours who were so understanding and to the St John's Church who allowed us to use their hall and tables.

Thank you to our entertainment acts who kept the crowd enthralled with your performances.  This was a first for us and really added to the flavour of the day.

Thank you to Philippa Crick at Cre8ive for keeping everyone updated through social media.

Thank you to the staff, who despite being incredibly busy with the students PBL projects, got fully involved in the day and helped prepare and pack down the big event.

To Mark Preston from Adams Electrical as he saved us from disaster and found a solution to provide electricity to the stage!

A big thank you to all of our volunteers running the stalls.  For many, this means many hours of organising, sorting and pricing.  I am always amazed at your generosity with your time and in many cases money.

A bigger thank you to our Parent Group and the Street Party subcommittee of Andrea Long, Kristalee Barton and Michelle Churchman.

And the biggest thanks of all goes to our Street Party Co-Ordinator Kelly Macknight who spent untold hours dedicated to ensuring the Street Party was a success.  We truly appreciate everything you have done.

You can read the ODT report below.

I know that your child will benefit from all of the hardwork and effort that everyone has made.  My sincere thanks to you all!
