As I write this, I am finalising the last minute bits and pieces for camp next week. The weather looks great, all the forms have been signed, the food is ordered and we are good to go! Thank you in advance to our parent community for their help next week on both camp and the Year 5 activity week. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy lives and regular schedules to allow these EOTC opportunities to go ahead. The teachers are really excited about camp and the challenges and learning that will come for your children next week. I would also like to acknowledge the Year 5 pupils (and Y4 Room 4 pupils) who have an exciting activity week planned, Pineapple track walking, visiting the museum, and a fun time at Moana Pool - I look forward to hearing all about it on our return from camp!

We have 3 more swimming sessions to go. A highlight so far has been the water skills for life sessions where the children wear clothes and a life jacket and discuss the skills required to be safe in the open water. At our final swimming session in week 9, children will be having their normal lesson followed by leisure time including time on the hydro slide. This will be a great way to celebrate not only the end of the year but their improvement in swimming ability also.

In week 8 I will be putting the call out to our current Year 5 pupils who wish to be trained as part of our road patrol 2021 crew. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to develop their leadership skills and road safety awareness. If you are a parent of a Year 5 student, please have a conversation with them about whether they would like to take up this opportunity.

Year 6 Leavers assembly - We warmly invite all of our Year 6 Whānau to our leaver's assembly on Wednesday 9th December, 6 pm. More information will come out from your child's class teacher in week 8.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support, and please do not hesitate to get in touch if we can help in anyway.
