On Tuesday 3 November the North Zone Athletics were held at the Caledonian on what were perfect conditions. 40 athletes represented Kaikorai in sprints, long jump, discus, shot put, hurdles and relays. Our athletes performed particularly well coming home with a selection of placings.

Competitors who reached the qualifying standard and were placed within the top 10 were then selected to compete at the Otago Championships on Tuesday 17 November. The calibre of competitors at this event is extremely high, with the best of the best from all over Otago competing. We were lucky to have 25 athletes from Kaikorai competing across a range of events.

Congratulations to all the students who competed at this event as it is a huge achievement to just to be selected. You all represented Kaikorai with such pride and sportsmanship.

A big thank you to Mr Reid and Miss Day for the many hours spent helping with training our athletes. Thank you also to the parents who helped transport and support all our competitors. Events like this would not be able to go ahead without your support and we are very grateful.
